The word or phrase that best describes my personality
energetic, easy going, sarcastic

The best or worst lie I've ever told

i am a horrible liar, i tend to tell on myself.

Fill in the blank: _____ is sexy; _____ is sexier.
nutella is sexy;eating  nutella while in bed is sexier ok, i can not figure out this one. but i am craving nutella right now....

My most humbling moment

(stolen from another profile) "i'm here aren't i......."

The last thing that made me laugh out loud

I laugh a lot, but its when you get a "snort" out of me, thats when things are getting good!

BE ON YOUR GUARD IN YOUR LATE 20s

Post By:Lady A

I am assuming that in response to this:
FaceBook status: Lady A wants to move to Portland and Drag Lady C with her.
HF:portland????

PC:portland?? why Portland?

Lady A:they have a large art community, foodie/organic/local farmer community, its by water and mountains, and its a city.

me and the sis are trying to figure out where we would want to raise mini's as well (well she most likely will pop some out)

its a local/small town mentality in a large city.

:) that and we are Gypsies and cant settle down in one spot.
...That Lady M sent me this
please read the link.I will wait and then we can continue with my lil rant.
Ok your done?lets continue shall we, fabulous.

Now, I am not saying I am 100% on the kid thing, it seems the older I get the more realistic I am on bringing in children into this world. but I would like to have the choice, and not be dried up.

over on Domestic & Single I have been complaining about the 30'something year olds I have been encountering in the last two years who really act what I expect 22 year olds act like.

its not a good sign when you date guys in their late 30's and they say
"yeah i am just hanging out, not looking for anything serious"

I agree you shouldn't "look" for anything, BUT you should be open to the idea of it.
I do not want to hear from another guy after a few months of courtship
"I want to see what else is out there but I would still like to see you"

umm no, you can NOT have your cake and eat it too!

the article is soo true, NYC is such a hard place to date. well thats a lie, if I wanted to date, I am pretty sure I could have a different date for every meal 7 days a week. it just means I would be dating guys who:
~i am not attracted to
~i will break their hearts before the check arrives
~i can walk all over
~do not challenge me
~bore me

yeah I know, high and mighty on myself. but it is true.

I have a dirty lil secret whom I have started to fall for and I have to pull away from. he has been a secret because I did not want my friends to yell at me. and after reading the article, I realized I am wasting time.

also is it wrong if I think a man in his 30's should be living on his own? and not at home with his 'rents? I heard this on a sorta-kinda-first-encounter/date and let me tell you I wanted to call it a night right then and there; any attraction I had for him went out the window.

the guy who told me this said it was a culture thing. thing is I do not see that as an acceptable justification seeing that I am latina and independent (for the most part).
I posed the question to some female friends and their first reactions were:
"Is he caring for his parents?- NO? than yeah thats no good!"

I wonder how the dating scene is in Portland, thing is, I suck at dating. I am better at relationships.

one confused and frustrated Lady A!

What I'm looking for...

Post By:Lady N

I'm not quite sure really. Lady A was making fun of my taste in men this weekend saying I like douchey guys in suits. Correction: I like assholes. A large percentage of them wear suits.

What I do like is guys who author, Toby Young, describes as "Just Gay Enough."

Read:
Appearing to be gay is such an all-round advantage in present-day Manhattan it's even an asset in the dating arena. Talk magazine ran an article in May 2000 identifying the magic ingredient that makes Jude Law, Matt Damon, and Edward Norton such heartthrobs: apparently, they're "Just Gay Enough." A female veteran of the New York dating scene was quoted describing her ideal man: "You want him to be a little gay about things. You want a lover who has pride of ownership in his house, who cooks, likes to dance, loves his mother, cares about his wardrobe and his body, but who doesn't go too far in any of those pursuits. You want him to be Just Gay Enough."

Most guys only notice T&A on a girl, completely ignoring some fashion atrocities ala Strawberry's mannequins . A guy I used to date has been known to say things like, "Is she really wearing Mudd jeans? Hi Seventh Grader." I loved him.

Last Night

Post By:Lady M

A couple of my friends and I decided to meet up and head out to a bar in Williamsburg Brooklyn called Barcade.

Some people's idea of a romantic nightspot involves candles, slow jams, and a heart-shaped box of candy. But for girls on the hunt for that elusive small-torsoed, tight-jeaned, floppy-haired species known as the Emoboyis Williamsburgus, there's no better pick-up spot than Barcade.- NYMAG

A bar that has arcade games, awesome microbrews, AND ' Emoboyis Williamsburgus'. Too good to be true right? I was pleasently surprised as the review stayed true to fact and found some hottie bespectacled men playing pacman as soon as I entered the bar. I've found that there's a diffrence between the quality of men that prowl the bar scene in Manhattan as opposed to Brooklynite men. Brooklyn men tend to usually be overly educated, cultured, into art, books, bourban, sarcasm, and shows. Guys who hang in the city can easily be spotted wearing collard shirts and they travel in packs with their, 'bros'. They are what you call 'Metrosexuals'. Now, from my expereince it's best to stay far away from these types are they are not interested in having any sort of inteligent conversation with the lady species. I understand that I'm making a generalization here but any NYC lady will agree with me on the dochefactor of these metrosexuals. My suggestion is to venture out into Brooklyn and catch yourself a hottie, floppy-haired, bespecatcled nerd as I did last night.

to all the guys out there.....

Post By:Lady A

....who think I am nice, sweet and "the one for them"; please let me have a say before you get mad at me for not wanting to date you.

I am a polite person, I a flirty but in a "sweet-proper" way not in a "lets go to bed" kinda-way. (but i am learning to let out my inner sex kitten...more on that later)

I was asked for my number in the middle of a house party this past weekend. all eyes went on me as I fumbled to answer. I was polite, I said "ok" but in reality I wanted to be like "sorry, I don't see a connection, and I have enough friends I can hardly keep up with...this would be a waste of time"

but no, he now has my number....and I will have to figure out how to deal with that.

the one guy who I am now becoming intrigued by, did not come out saturday. too bad because its no longer just physical for me, I have become intellectually stimulated by him, which is also very very sexy to me. this could lead to trouble.

to the others here you go.......

.....with me, i will just break your heart.

Hi, I'm Single.

Post By:Lady N

Perhaps it’s a bit fitting that I begin my first post today.

Today, I got dumped. This could quite possibly be for the 100th time in my dating career. I’m OK though. I’m not calling former flings, crying to my girlfriends, burning things, or drinking myself into a That Girl incarnate. I’m just having one glass. It softens the pain of the wounded ego.

To be honest, I saw this break-up coming. We were no longer connecting, we were too busy for each other, and I really couldn’t afford another plane ticket. (We were long distance). He asked me to move to Seattle with him and at first I was excited of the idea of a brand new city. But as time went by I began to second guess my decision to move, as well as my relationship. It was J or the City. Who did I love more?

I began to resent J for trying to take me away from here. I started to question if he was The One. In the beginning, it was so refreshing to date such Guy’s Guy, a nice change from the self-absorbed metrosexual men I was used to. J was strong and chivalrous and I felt completely taken care of when I was with him. But eventually something was lacking. Our conversations fell flat. We didn’t have inside jokes. And if we were to be together I would have to rule out my dreams of a Manhattan luxury apartment completely.

I chose New York. Well, he beat me to the punch , but still, in the end, I love New York more.

I see you ;)
